That explains it, my github id is from when I was in school so before I had a work email.
The util-linux folks have merged the dmesg upgrade to support caller_id with the dmesg
/dev/kmsg interface so now there is support for PRINTK_CALLER caller_id for both SYSLOG
and default dmesg format.
