(anderson(a)redhat.com) - If the vmlinux file and /proc/version do not match, and crash tries to find an appropriate System.map file to use for symbol addresses, a new "WARNING: vmlinux and /proc/version do not match!" message will be displayed. Note that the System.map file that crash finds will be appropriate for data symbols, but may not necessarily be correct for text regions. When this happens, kernel text disassembly may be incorrect, and this in turn leads to other problems, such as incorrect back-tracing.
